YAY! I ran for the FIRST time to Macritchie today. I did 4 km with juns and zhen he. Who cares if we walked most of it...at least i did it! But i think zhen he did way more cos he doubled back haha. I feel so fit and healthy now! AND i didn't have any dessert today :) (HAH juns!)
You know i just realised that my classes are kind of kindergarten-ish in a way? Okay today for biology, we used plasticine (in other words - play dough) to mould cells. Then for English, we acted out a play. For chinese on tuesday, all we had to do was cut out "cool" things from magazines and stick them on a poster. Honestly, it's quite fun but i really
don't see how they help us learn better. I think i'd learn more in less time by reading the textbook. But i don't mind these lessons because it gives me more time to talk in class haha.
Newspaper today was so dull. We had to listen to some talk on layouts and i started to get REALLY restless. I'm not even doing the layout design, i'm writing! I don't have to learn how to design newsletters! Juns is quitting the newspaper now because she says the topics we're writing about are boring. I suppose she has a point (we can't review as many tv shows and books as we would like to) but i like writing too much to quit. We have to write about school news and really, if it's just updates on whats going on in school, how interesting can it be? Wouldn't you rather read what students think about lessons in sjii or the not so tasty canteen food?

Dogathon!

Today was such a sweaty day. At the dogathon i borrowed sarah's cousin's dog, a corgi called poggi (hey that rhymes! haha yes i know i'm random.) Anyway, once the walk started, i managed to move a total of 5 steps before poggi suddenly sat down on the pavement and stared at me with an adamant expression. At first i was like "okaaay...what am i supposed to do now?" so i tugged at the leash and kept going "Come on Poggi!" but she just sat there and continued staring. i felt so bad pulling her leash cos passers-by kept going "she tired already lah." So i had to pick her up and carry her for a few meters. This went on for 3/4 of the walk. It was only later on when juns fed poggi water that she suddenly started trotting very fast. haha i guess she was just thirsty.

After the Dogathon, 8 of us (Zhen he, Thiru, Ian, Suraj, Ricardo, Ryan, Nicolette and me) went to Swensens for dinner. haha all the guys are so retarded (and i mean that in the nicest way possible).
Last night i had dinner with all my old mg friends and it was sooo much fun seeing them again. We cam whored the entire night so i'll put up the pics as soon as jing and bethy upload them.

Tuesday!
Today was the first time in my ENTIRE life that i was kicked out of class. Yes. My impeccable student record has been ruined! I've never done anything so small that recieved such a huge punishment before. 2 minutes late for Economics and Mr Maclehose shooed us out of class with a grim look but in a very matter-of-fact way. But then again he's done it so many times before to other students, why should depriving half his class of a lesson bother him?
Actually i was kind of relieved because it gave me an extra hour to type out my biology practical so at least i can turn my attention to my English and TOK essays.

I went to the gym on saturday. I ran 5km on the treadmill. Then i had an extremely tiring tennis lesson on Monday. So why?! Why am i STILL the last person to complete my runs? STOP RUNNING SO FAST CHRIS AND ZHEN HE AND JUNS AND CARMEN. okay actually i beat juns today. haha i was so proud of myself but then juns did more push-ups than me. oh well.

Today was also my first rock band practise. I didn't actually do much except strum a few chords and sing the bridge (or was it the chorus?) of How to Save A Life cos jose couldn't hit the high notes haha. His voice kind of broke at the high part and juns and i started laughing at him lol.

Valentines Day :)
YES. We have decided on SJIeye over "The Josephian Tribune"(what kind of boring name is that?!) for the newspaper's name. HAH zhen he! Anyway, after the meeting, we all went to watch jumper.
Jose and Danusha had subway for the first time! haha poor deprived people. Who hasn't had subway?! After that we went into the cinema...
Jumper is such a bad movie. The plot was predictable and it didn't finish off with a nice big ending. I think Haydn Christiansen did a MUCH better job with star wars.
I wonder who got asked for valentines? Too bad whoever did get asked didn't make it very obvious. But then again who would want to? Speaking of valentines, thanks to all the people who gave out notes, chocolates, oreos, gummies and roses on valentines!
One last thing,
I FINALLY finished Koch. After an entire week of stressing over the damn area formula, i rushed up at 3.10 on friday after school to pass up the portfolio. haha i feel so free now.

13th feb 08
Yesterday I ended up running with juns, zhen he and chris teo. And i realised that i'm just as unfit as i imagined i would be. Unless its that the pple with me were just super fit. It was actually quite fun after awhile so i've decided to run in school more often if i have the time. oooh i feel all healthy now haha!
Valentines Day is tomorrow! Yesterday I realized with horror that we had to go for the newspaper meeting and we couldn't go for the movie. So zhen he, juns and i decided to go ask Mr Wong if we could leave early. I fully expected zhen he to do the asking but when we got into the office, HE DIDN'T! So while Mr Wong was looking expectantly at us
i went "errmm...Mr Wong, can we leave early after newspaper tmr?...for valentines?" He went "we'll end by 4.15, don't worry..thats plenty of time for you girls to look pretty for your dates!" I think he thinks me and juns have valentines now (which, by the way, is not true.) How embarrassing.

Workout!
OH. MY. GOD. Tomorrow we have to start our P.E lessons. Guess what our work out is? Run up down the slope leading up to our school FIVE TIMES. Do you KNOW how loooong that is? plus, its a SLOPE! And I'm a girl!! I'm not even going to NS! I don't NEED to build up my physical stamina! I'm not fat enough to be on the verge of death so i don't actually NEED to run. This is the most horrible thing about being in a co-ed school. i miss mg so much now!
I suppose it wouldn't be as bad if everyone in my school were extremely unfit and hated running. Then i wouldn't feel so pathetic when i tire out first. But juns and carmen don't seem to mind. Juns actually said it was going to be "so fun!". I can't believe i'm hanging out with such an INSANE person hahaha.
This is so so depressing :(

P.S. don't be fooled by Gabriel's height. He's tip-toeing!

Valentine's Day
"So are you asking anyone to be your valentine?" This is a topic that keeps popping up everywhere i go...in the corridors, the grade 11/12 centre, even the path leading up to the school. The constant murmur of gossip rises to a roar as everyone predicts who will go down next.
What i want to know is why everyone seems to take it so seriously. Of course, it IS the time of year when there's a chance of finding out who really likes you. This gets everyone, boys AND girls, excited.
But in sji, it's always the guys who confess first. I'm not allowed to say who, but as far as i know, there have been FOUR confessions and guess what? ALL of them are from poor love-struck guys.
What is it with boys confessing so fast? Don't they KNOW it's just a recipe for disaster? I mean, jeez...you've only known the girl for 2 weeks and already you want to tell her you like her? Give the relationship a chance to develop! So what happens when the girl doesn't like the guy back? Some are at a loss for words but most of them reply with a simple "let's just be friends". And obviously, this makes it extremely awkward afterwards. This is exactly why guys should wait before confessing.
Nobody i know has actually been asked yet but i do know of a few boys who are thinking about asking their crushes. (Most of them are racked with anxiety and some are just wondering who to ask). I honestly believe that asking a girl to be your valentine is much less stressful than confessing to liking her. Valentine's are only valentines for a day but a girlfriend can last for months. Maybe this is why everyone loves Valentine's Day.
Three ways NOT to confess to liking someone (beginning with the least horrifying)
1) By voicemail
2) Through MSN messenger
3) Through sms
The best thing to do, in my opinion, is wait to see if he/she likes you back (look for hints). Then after a minimum of 5 weeks, confess in person.

I've been going to SJII for a month now and i have to admit that i really like it. The friends may be different but everyday is really fun. Here's a polaroid of one fifth of the entire cohort. (yes, i said cohort, not class.)
oh the guys aren't smiling because apparently "they all planned to do it". They're usually cracking jokes and laughing. The current joke circulating around the cohort now is "....if you know what i mean". Every sentence ends like that and it's seriously starting to annoy me haha.

This is just to occupy me until tennis starts but its actually more enjoyable than i expected. i need to build some muscle!

For my subjects, i chose higher chem and bio but now i'm seriously starting to doubt my decision. This is due to the fact that i got A1 for history and A2 for bio and B3 for chem. Plus, how can i write about politics in the future if i don't take history? For now, however, i'm sticking to my sciences.
